Ihr kennt das sicher, diese ganze Post im Email-Eingang, für die höchstens zum Überfliegen Zeit bleibt und wovon einiges dann einfach gelöscht wird. Das ist nicht fair, ich weiß, doch diesmal hatte ich Lust auf unbekannte Songs und habe auf den Link von Nikayas neustem Song Gloomy Posture bei Soundcloud geklickt.
Die Stimme von Florian Kusch, rauh und mitreißend, ließ mich sofort richtig hinhören. Ohne weiter andere Mails zu lesen, gab ich mich ihr ganz hin. War das eine romantische und schräg schöne Stimme aus der fernen Vergangenheit, aus den glorreichen Zeiten des Grunge? Doch diese Stimme kam nicht aus Seattle, nicht aus den abgefeierten 90ern. Sie kommt aus dem Brandenburg von heute, und ist untermalt von einem stoischen, sich niemals in den Vordergrund drängenden Bass, gespielt von Johannes Danker, und dem ruhigen und sehr präzisen Schlagzeug von Julian Schütte.
Eine sehr rudimentäre Besetzung also, auch wenn der Sänger in einigen Stücken zudem die Gitarre und das Piano spielt. Die drei Jungs legen bei allen Stücken richtig los, vertrauen in ihr Können und werden damit sicher noch weit kommen. Das ist Reduktion at it´s best, per Mail und damit mehr oder weniger durch Zufall entdeckt! Ich bin bereits gespannt auf den Live Gig beim Zwischenraum Festival am Ostkreuz!

You know for sure all these posts showing up in your email inbox, for the max it´s possibkle to run over it briefly and then delete all this stuff easily. It’s not fair, I know, but this time I wanted to listen to unknown songs and decided to click on the link of Nikaya´s newest song Gloomy Posture on Soundcloud.
The voice of Florian Kusch, rough and rousing, let me immediately listen properly. Without further other mails to read, I gave myself up entirely to this voice. Was that a romantic and obliquely beautiful voice from the distant past, from the glory days of grunge? But this voice came not from Seattle, not from the revelled 90s. It comes from Brandenburg of today, and is accompanied by a stoic urgent bass, played by Johannes Danker, and the quiet and very precise percussion by Julian Schütte.
A very rudimentary cast so, even if the singer plays the guitar and the piano in some pieces also. The three guys really go for it. They trust in their abilities and thus certainly go pretty far. It´s reduktion at it´s best, and thus more or less discovered by chance in an email! I’m already looking forward to the live gig at the Zwischenraum Festival next to Ostkreuz!
